Which anime has the more powerful final antagonist: Bleach or Naruto?

Posted on May 15, 2023May 15, 2023 by CharlotteM

Both Bleach and Naruto are iconic Shonen anime series that are known for their numerous and memorable villains that pose a formidable challenge to the protagonists. These villains are often the driving force behind the plot, creating opportunities for the heroes to grow and become stronger. The final villains in these series, in particular, are incredibly powerful and have the ability to threaten the entire world.

In Bleach, the final villain is Yhwach, the King of all Quincies. He is also the son of the Soul King, who possesses unconventional powers. Yhwach, on the other hand, has all his father’s skills as well as destructive offensive powers, which are catastrophic enough to overpower the Soul Society’s Head Captain, Genryusai Yamamoto. None of the Soul Reapers could even put a scratch on him.

Yhwach wields “The Almighty,” a power that allows him to perceive and potentially affect the future, making him a true Quincy. He is the only person capable of wielding Captain-Commander Genrysai Shigekuni Yamamoto’s Bankai. He can also heal himself and use Quincy’s abilities. In the end, no one could defeat Yhwach, and only the silver arrow immobilized him for a moment, which was enough to take Ichigo down. Unfortunately, the victory came too late, and the Soul Society had already fallen, with countless casualties, including several Captains and Lieutenants.

In Naruto, the final villain is Kaguya, an otherworldly being who came to Earth a millennium ago to establish a God Tree and collect its Chakra Fruit. She was supposed to provide it to the main family of her clan from another world. Before the hidden villages were established, during an era of never-ending strife, Kaguya ate the fruit of the God Tree and became the first wielder of chakra on Earth, later combining with the tree to form the Ten-Tails. However, she abandoned her mission after falling in love with a mortal, only to be betrayed in the end.

Kaguya committed several atrocious acts, and Hagoromo and Homura sealed her away since she was too powerful to die. She returned from her prison during the Fourth Great Ninja War in hopes of ending the world. Kaguya had all the legendary powers mentioned in the series, including Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinne Sharingan, and the power of the ten-tailed beast. Through the efforts of Team 7, Obito, Hagoromo’s Chakra, Kaguya was finally defeated, but she was only sealed and not killed.

While both Yhwach and Kaguya are immensely powerful and pose a significant threat to their respective worlds, Yhwach is arguably the stronger final villain due to his intelligence and ability to see and change the future. He has been fighting and strategizing for over 1000 years, despite the fact that he and Kaguya have both been alive for that long. Additionally, Yhwach is an unredeemable villain, whereas Kaguya was victimized as someone who was betrayed by her husband and later children, making her actions more understandable.

In conclusion, both Bleach and Naruto have incredibly strong final villains that pose a significant challenge to their respective heroes. However, Yhwach in Bleach is the stronger final villain due to his intelligence and ability to see and change the future.
