One Piece’s anime, currently in the Wano arc, is receiving special attention from Toei Animation to ensure top-notch quality for viewers. Fans are eagerly anticipating Luffy’s clash with Kaido and the highly anticipated power-up that will occur during the battle.
In a recent tweet, One Piece animator @henry_thurlow made a controversial statement, declaring that 2023 belongs to One Piece and not to Demon Slayer or Bleach. Thurlow clarified that he doesn’t have any animosity towards the rival series but pointed out that neither of them will showcase their major climax battles in 2023, giving One Piece an advantage. He also mentioned that while fans have already witnessed incredible fights, there are many more extraordinary and historic moments yet to come.
Toei Animation, the studio behind the One Piece adaptation, is renowned for producing high-quality anime, having worked on notable series such as Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Digimon. Eiichiro Oda’s original manga has been a dominant force in the manga and anime industry for over two decades.
Meanwhile, Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc is currently airing, following Tanjiro and other Demon Slayers as they confront the upper moon demons who have infiltrated Swordsmith Village.
As for Bleach’s TYBW (Thousand-Year Blood War) arc, it is currently on a brief hiatus, with the second cour set for release in July 2023. The first cour depicted the Quincy King’s attack on the Soul Society, resulting in the massacre of thousands while Ichigo remained powerless. Additionally, Bleach TYBW part 2 will feature a fight scene that wasn’t included in the manga.
As we approach 2023, the question on everyone’s minds is whether One Piece will truly dominate or if Demon Slayer and Bleach will give the pirate saga a tough competition.
