Posted on May 27, 2023May 27, 2023 by CharlotteM

During the highly anticipated MAPPA Stage event, the long-awaited finale of Attack on Titan Final Season treated fans to a captivating reveal in the form of a new key visual. The event featured the presence of notable cast members including Yuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, and Romi Park, alongside director Yuichiro Hayashi. As part of the event, the cast performed a live reading of impactful scenes from the previous installment, titled Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 1, building excitement for the impending conclusion. Fans can expect the grand finale to grace their screens in the fall of this year.

Director Hayashi shared insights into the creation of the final key visual, emphasizing their decision to adopt a simple approach that aims to invoke the viewer’s imagination. Interestingly, the visual deviates from its predecessors, departing from the inclusion of characters or titans, and instead showcases the phrase “I’ll see you later, Eren.” This unique direction adds an air of mystery and anticipation, leaving fans speculating about the ultimate fate of their beloved characters.

While the director expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress of the project, he also revealed a sense of incompleteness, indicating the team’s relentless pursuit of perfection in bringing this monumental story to its culmination. The inclusion of the phrase “I’ll see you later, Eren” serves as a poignant reminder of the impending farewell, heightening emotional stakes and setting the stage for a climactic conclusion.

The staff behind the Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special showcases a talented lineup of industry professionals. It includes director Yuichiro Hayashi, series composer Hiroshi Seko, character designer Tomohiro Kishi, and animation directors Daisuke Ninuma and Manabu Akita. The team is committed to delivering a visually stunning and narratively captivating conclusion to this groundbreaking series.

Originally based on Hajime Isayama’s manga series, Attack on Titan first debuted in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009, captivating readers with its gripping narrative and intricate world-building. The manga’s remarkable success propelled it to a highly acclaimed anime adaptation by WIT Studio in 2013. Subsequent seasons followed, including the highly praised third season, which was split into two cours, captivating fans with its intense storytelling and thought-provoking themes.

The torch was then passed to Studio MAPPA for the fourth and final season, aptly titled Attack on Titan Final Season. The studio successfully took the reins, continuing the legacy of quality animation and engrossing storytelling that the series had become known for. With the final season split into two parts, the first part aired in December 2020 and concluded in March 2021, leaving fans eager for the continuation of this epic tale.

As the saga nears its conclusion, fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2, which commenced in January of the previous year. With each episode, the story inches closer to its ultimate climax, promising an unforgettable finale that will leave a lasting impact on fans and solidify Attack on Titan’s status as a modern anime classic.
