Posted on May 28, 2023May 27, 2023 by CharlotteM

The highly anticipated conclusion of the popular anime series Attack on Titan is drawing near, but it seems that the journey isn’t quite over just yet. Yuichiro Hayashi, one of the directors involved in bringing this epic tale to life, has provided some insight into the status of the final installment, which is slated to air this year.

As fans brace themselves for the imminent finale, Hayashi has hinted that there is still work to be done on the last part of Attack on Titan, aptly titled The Final Chapters. Sharing an update on the progress, Hayashi stated, “With the release of the key visual for the sequel to the final part, the Attack on Titan anime is steadily pushing towards its final act.” However, he also confessed, “However, the work is still in the middle, so I don’t feel like I’m done at all. Will the end really come?”

While an exact release date for the final chapter of Attack on Titan has yet to be announced, it is expected to be part of the Fall season, building up the anticipation among fans. The recent unveiling of a new key visual has only added to the excitement surrounding the epic conclusion of this long-running series.

The impending climax of Attack on Titan marks a significant moment for anime enthusiasts, as it brings an end to a narrative that has captivated audiences for over a decade. The intricate storyline, compelling characters, and intense themes have made Attack on Titan a cultural phenomenon, garnering a massive following worldwide.

The first part of The Final Chapters left viewers on the edge of their seats, with a jaw-dropping hour-long special that brought Eren and the Survey Corps to a critical turning point. The episode made it clear that a happy ending is unlikely for our beloved heroes, leaving fans eager to discover the fate that awaits them.

The episode concluded with Armin posing a pivotal question to Eren: “Once we drag you out of there, how are you free?” This question carries great significance, as Eren’s pursuit of freedom has become increasingly complex and morally ambiguous throughout the series. His actions, including the devastating Rumbling and his desire to bring about the destruction of the world, have left audiences questioning his motives and wondering how he will justify his choices to his old friend.

As the audience eagerly awaits the final installment, the anticipation continues to grow. The conclusion of Attack on Titan promises to be a momentous occasion, filled with emotional revelations, intense battles, and thought-provoking resolutions. The series has captivated fans with its intricate storytelling, deep exploration of human nature, and breathtaking animation.

With the work still in progress, the dedicated team behind Attack on Titan remains committed to delivering a fitting and impactful conclusion that will leave a lasting impression on viewers. As the end draws nearer, fans will undoubtedly be on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the final act of this extraordinary anime saga.
