Theory: The Cross Guild will recruit all remaining Warlords in One Piece

The One Piece universe has been ablaze with excitement in recent weeks, as both the anime and manga deliver captivating storylines and thrilling moments. While the focus has shifted away from the Straw Hat crew for a while, one particular group has emerged in the spotlight—the enigmatic Cross Guild. Led by the formidable trio of Mihawk, Sir Crocodile, and Buggy, this gathering of ex-Warlords has swiftly become a force to be reckoned with, with Buggy even attaining the status of one of the new Yonko.

The Cross Guild’s ambitions have become clear—they desire more strength and capital, particularly as Buggy compels them to set their sights on the One Piece itself. Strangely enough, their best path to achieving these goals seems to lie with their former colleagues—the Warlords of the Sea.

The reverberations of the “Reverie” arc resonate strongly, as the Seven Warlords of the Sea, a once-beneficial system that allowed pirates freedom from the Navy and World Government, has crumbled. One by one, the Warlords have fallen victim to the machinations of other major players. Blackbeard and his crew decimated the forces of Gecko Moria, Boa Hancock, and even Trafalgar Law. Weevil and Doflamingo were arrested by the World Government (though Doflamingo’s arrest preceded the Reverie). Bartholomew Kuma, once a mighty Warlord, has been reduced to a broken state, enslaved by the Celestial Dragons, though he was subsequently rescued by the Revolutionary Army and now embarks on a mysterious journey to climb the Red Line.

Only Jinbe, now a member of a Yonko’s crew, and Blackbeard himself, who has ascended to the status of a Yonko, seem to be faring well among the former Warlords. For the majority of the ex-Warlords, joining forces with the Cross Guild appears to be the most logical and advantageous solution. The Cross Guild possesses the resources and strength to amplify their collective power, transforming them into an even more formidable entity. Even Yonko like Blackbeard and Shanks would hesitate before daring to confront such an alliance. Aligning with the Cross Guild not only offers security but also presents an opportunity for the ex-Warlords to fulfill their desires. Doflamingo and Weevil could attain their freedom, while Moria, Hancock, and Law could pursue their vengeance against Blackbeard, as the Cross Guild now sets its sights on the ultimate treasure, the One Piece. The very foundation of the Cross Guild was built upon the concept of a mutually beneficial relationship among ex-Warlords, making their recruitment a perfect fit.

However, it is not only the ex-Warlords who stand to gain from this alliance. Moria’s expertise in raising a zombie army could prove invaluable in the organization’s endeavors.

Law and Weevil, despite not contributing directly to the Cross Guild’s forces, possess formidable strengths that should not be underestimated. Law has proven himself capable of facing off against two Yonko simultaneously, albeit with assistance, while Weevil’s rumored power is said to rival that of Whitebeard in his prime. However, it is perhaps Doflamingo who would bring the most substantial benefits, particularly regarding the Cross Guild’s financial situation. Known as “Joker” in the criminal underworld, Doflamingo was an astute and dangerous businessman with an extensive network of connections. His Celestial Dragon heritage provides him with exclusive information, including the whereabouts of a treasure hidden by the Celestial Dragons. Doflamingo’s inclusion in the Cross Guild could swiftly alleviate any financial concerns they may have.

While all of this remains speculative, the pieces seem to align in a way that suggests the story is heading in this direction or something similar. The convergence of the Warlords facing dire circumstances simultaneously and the emergence of a group composed of ex-Warlords feels too coincidental to ignore. Furthermore, the convergence of their goals further intensifies the intrigue. As the series appears to be building up to a major conflict involving various organizations and groups, the inclusion of the Cross Guild adds an exciting dynamic to the narrative, leaving fans eagerly anticipating how this alliance will shape the future of One Piece.
