“The Incredibles” is back in theaters for Disney’s 100th celebration

Posted on September 2, 2023September 2, 2023 by CharlotteM

To commemorate Disney’s remarkable 100-year journey, the entertainment giant is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some of its most beloved films to the silver screen. As part of this ongoing celebration, the critically acclaimed 2004 animated masterpiece, “The Incredibles,” is set to return to theaters for an exclusive two-week run, beginning on September 1st. Directed and written by the visionary Brad Bird, this film not only achieved staggering commercial success, raking in an impressive $632 million worldwide, but also garnered widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics alike. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to the world of animation, “The Incredibles” secured four Oscar nominations and ultimately clinched the prestigious awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Sound Editing.

“The Incredibles” is a cinematic gem set in a world where government regulations prohibit all superheroes, or “supers,” from exhibiting their extraordinary powers in public, compelling them to live concealed lives. The narrative revolves around Bob, a retired superhero celebrated for his superhuman strength and endurance, who longs for the thrilling days of superheroic adventures. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a clandestine mission that demands the utmost secrecy, even from his family. His wife, Helen, possesses the unique ability to transform her body like rubber, and together they have three remarkable children, each blessed with their own superpowers. When circumstances take a dark twist, the family unites to confront the nefarious Syndrome, a former super-fan turned supervillain after his rejection as Mr. Incredible’s sidekick.

“The Incredibles” boasts a stellar voice cast, including Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet, Spencer Fox as Dash, Jason Lee as Syndrome, Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone, Elizabeth Peña as Mirage, and Brad Bird himself as the unforgettable Edna Mode.

From September 1st to 14th, audiences will have the rare opportunity to relive the magic of “The Incredibles” in select theaters. It’s a chance to immerse yourself once again in the thrilling world of superheroes, heartwarming family dynamics, and exceptional storytelling that made this film a timeless classic. Be sure not to miss this limited engagement as part of Disney’s centennial celebration. Secure your tickets today and prepare to embark on an unforgettable cinematic adventure.
