Alex Bowman won his first Cup race this season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday after reaping the benefits of a two-tire pit risk before the overtime restart.
Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports placed second after taking the same two-tire gamble. Ross Chastain, Kyle Busch, and William Byron were his closest competitors. Chastain led the field with 52 points. He finished the second stage with 18 stage points. Bowman was victorious in the first stage.
Aric Almirola finished sixth, making him the only driver to rank in the top ten in each of the season’s first three races.

Kyle Larson, the defending Cup champion, leads the points standings after Sunday’s race. He has a total of 113 points. Martin Truex (107 points), Joey Logano (104), former points leader Austin Cindric (103), and Kyle Busch round out the top five (102).
