Tengen Uzui, the Sound Pillar, is a former shinobi who joins the Demon Slayer Corps, bringing his flamboyance and showmanship to his battles.
Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Pillar, is a disciple of Kyojuro. She possesses an overtly passionate and somewhat airheaded personality, wielding a unique whip-like sword made from a malleable metal mastered only by her. Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Pillar, is outwardly calm and detached but harbors an intense fury towards demons, which fuels his relentless determination in battle.
Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Pillar, is renowned as the strongest among his peers. Despite his towering figure, he possesses a compassionate heart and once sheltered orphaned children. Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Pillar, is a formidable and tormented warrior who always accompanies his loyal snake companion, Kaburamaru. He bears the weight of self-loathing due to a painful past connected to a serpentine demon.
Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, is known for his confrontational and aggressive nature. He has a strong desire to expose Nezuko’s demonic essence to the Hashira and Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. However, he struggles to accept the Kamado siblings due to tragic events in his past, including the demise of his siblings and having to slay his own mother, who had transformed into a demon.
In addition to the current Hashira, there are retired members who have left their mark on the Demon Slayer Corps. Shinjuro Rengoku, the former Flame Pillar and father of Kyojuro and Senjuro, resigned from the Corps after recognizing the superiority of the original breath style, Sun Breathing. Kanae Kocho, formerly known as the Flower Pillar, tragically fell victim to Doma, one of the powerful Upper Rank Two demons.
Sakonji Urokodaki, the former Water Pillar, initially had reservations about Tanjiro’s kind nature but agreed to train him. As their bond grew stronger, Urokodaki shed tears of joy when Tanjiro returned from the Demon Slayer exam alive, becoming the first survivor in a long string of deaths. Jigoro Kuwajima, the former Thunder Pillar, served as the instructor for Zenitsu and Kaigaku, earning a reputation as the mentor for the most challenging students.
Lastly, there is Yoriichi Tsugikuni, widely regarded as the strongest Demon Slayer in history. Yoriichi struck terror into Muzan’s heart during the Sengoku Era, coming close to decapitating the Demon King. Though his official Hashira rank remains undisclosed, Yoriichi enjoyed special privileges akin to the Pillars, including a unique engraving on his nirichin sword.
