Writer Greg Pak and artist Giulia Giacomino are embarking on an exciting new endeavor by launching an ongoing comic series inspired by Disney’s much-loved animated classic, ‘Lilo & Stitch.’ The narrative unfolds in the aftermath of the original 2002 film, where Stitch, affectionately referred to as Experiment 626, has found his niche in the tranquil paradise of Hawaii, alongside his ‘ohana. This extended family comprises Lilo, Nani, David, Dr. Jumba, Agent Pleakley, and their friend Cobra Bubbles. United by their shared bonds, they’re all navigating the complexities of life, and Stitch and Lilo are learning to temper their sometimes destructive impulses with newfound responsibilities.
However, tranquillity takes a back seat when a fresh and menacing threat sets its sights on Stitch. In the form of enigmatic, colossal robots, this perilous new presence is determined to secure samples of Stitch’s unique DNA for motives shrouded in darkness. This predicament poses a fundamental question at the heart of the series: Can Stitch shield his beloved home and family from this impending danger? Furthermore, the narrative delves into the profound conundrum of Stitch’s existence. How can he reunite with his ‘ohana when his mere presence perpetually places them in harm’s way?
Speaking about this exciting project, Greg Pak expressed his enthusiasm by reminiscing about the remarkable impact of the original ‘Lilo & Stitch’ film. He was deeply moved by its breathtaking animation and delightful sci-fi elements. Yet, what resonated most profoundly with him was the film’s unwavering focus on the everyday challenges of an incredibly relatable family teetering on the edge, and a unique friendship between a young girl and an otherworldly creature that ends up being mutually redemptive. The opportunity to work on this new comic series alongside a team of immense talent is a source of great excitement for Pak.

The launch of the very first American ‘Lilo & Stitch’ comic series is accompanied by a selection of captivating cover art. David Nakayama portrays a spirited scene of the titular duo catching some waves, capturing the essence of the island paradise. Joshua Middleton’s cover encapsulates a poignant, tender moment between characters on the beach, epitomizing the heartwarming connections in the story. Jennifer L. Meyer’s ethereal and dream-like style brings to life the enchanting landscapes of Hawaii and highlights Stitch’s musical prowess.
