Christy Carlson Romano, known for her role as the voice of Kim Possible in Disney’s animated series, has revealed that her character continues to have a significant presence in her family life. The actress, who is a mother to two daughters, Isabella (6) and Sophia (3), shared with PEOPLE that her girls are avid fans of the iconic crime-fighting character.
In fact, Romano, who is married to Brendan Rooney, mentioned that her daughters have chosen to use the Kim Possible avatar as their profiles on Disney+. She expresses her joy, saying, “It’s just the biggest flex to have as a mom to be your kids’ avatar on Disney+ for me. I’m still very much in love with Kim Possible. She’s ever-present in my life.”
Romano, who is now 38 years old, is also excited to share that she uses the Kim Possible avatar for her own profile on the streaming platform. She adds, “My avatar is Kim Possible on Disney+, and so they’ll always tell me that, ‘Mommy’s Kim Possible.'”
Aside from her involvement with Kim Possible, Romano is launching a company called PodCo, which hosts various Disney-themed podcasts. She emphasizes how parenting as a couple has influenced their partnership in PodCo. Romano explains, “Having two kids together has taught us how to speak together because our time is so valuable. If you’re going to have a disagreement, you better come out of that with a solution. So we’re extremely solution-focused, and that’s our secret power.”
PodCo’s lineup of shows includes rewatch podcasts of beloved children’s series from the 2000s, such as Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place and Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. These podcasts are hosted by stars from the respective series. Romano is also involved in a rewatch podcast for her former show, Even Stevens, where she co-hosts alongside fellow cast members Nick Spano and Steven Anthony Lawrence.
Expressing her enthusiasm for PodCo, Romano explains, “I love what we’re doing with PodCo because we’ve really found a niche here. We’ve not cornered the market, I should say, but I feel like we found a niche.”
