Attack on Titan’s Final Season Part 3 Part 2 reveals new key visual at Mappa Stage 2023

Posted on May 27, 2023May 27, 2023 by CharlotteM

During the highly anticipated Mappa Stage 2023 event, Attack on Titan fans were treated to an exciting revelation—the release of a new key visual for the upcoming Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Part 2. Held on Sunday, May 21, at 3:30 pm JST, the event offered an immersive experience, complete with live voice acting, insightful comments from the cast and director, and even anecdotes surrounding Romi Park’s departure from the show.

As the final installment of the anime series, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Part 2 is set to premiere during the Fall 2023 season on NHK General. The unveiling of this key visual at the Mappa Stage 2023 event, attended by director Yuichiro Hayashi, added to the excitement surrounding the series’ conclusion. In fact, Hayashi mentioned that this particular key visual is likely to be the last one for this part of the series.

The recently revealed key visual for Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Part 2 portrays a picturesque scene—a quaint cottage nestled atop a verdant hill, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant vegetation. The ambiance exudes a serene tranquility, with no trace of anything unnatural or foreboding. Interestingly, the visual lacks any human characters, but keen-eyed fans will notice the shadows of two Titans lurking in the background. Adding to the intrigue, the poster includes the text “Itterasshai Eren,” which can be translated as “Take care/have a nice day/see you, Eren.”

Devoted manga readers will instantly recognize this setting as the backdrop of the infamous “See you Eren” dream, with the inscription likely representing Mikasa’s poignant final words to Eren. Director Hayashi acknowledged that this key visual marks the culmination of the promotional stills for the upcoming installment. However, fans can anticipate the release of an exciting trailer in the near future, offering further glimpses into the epic finale.

During the Mappa Stage 2023 event, Director Hayashi shared his thoughts on the series and its approaching conclusion, stating, “With the release of the key visual for the sequel to the final part, the Attack on Titan anime is advancing towards its final act. However, the work is still in progress, so it does not feel complete. As for the key visual, I think this will be the final visual for The Final Season.” He further explained his decision to present a simpler visual without an abundance of characters, believing that it sparks the audience’s imagination and adds a sense of intrigue. Hayashi also teased that there are intriguing aspects and potential spoilers that are best left to viewers’ own imagination, heightening the anticipation for the final part.

The Mappa Stage 2023 event not only featured Director Hayashi but also included prominent cast members, including Yuki Kaji (the voice of Eren), Yui Ishikawa (the voice of Mikasa Ackerman), and Romi Park (the voice of Hange Zoe). The trio delivered captivating live voice acting performances, bringing selected scenes from Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Part 1 to life, which had aired on March 4, 2023.

The panel discussion delved into various memorable moments from their experiences portraying these beloved characters. A special focus was given to the character of Hange Zoe, whose departure in the previous part left a lasting impact on both the story and the fans. For Romi Park, who brought Hange Zoe to life with her incredible voice acting, this event marked her farewell to the show, although she may make appearances on other stages during the anime’s run.

As the release of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Part 2 draws closer, fans eagerly anticipate the epic conclusion of this groundbreaking series. With the combination of stunning visuals, intense storytelling, and the dedication of the talented cast and crew, the final installment promises to deliver an unforgettable and impactful conclusion to the Attack on Titan saga.
