Disney has revealed the launch date and specifics for the upcoming ‘Coco’-themed restaurant at Disneyland Paris.
Ever since its initial announcement, anticipation has grown for the new Coco-inspired restaurant at Disneyland Paris, named Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia. It’s a reimagined version of the former Fuente Del Oro restaurant in Frontierland, now drawing inspiration from the beloved Pixar film. The restaurant is designed to capture the essence of the Riviera family’s history, with a multitude of intricate details. Disney has not only disclosed an opening date for the establishment but has also provided a sneak peek inside, showcasing intriguing elements for enthusiasts.
Opening Date of Coco Restaurant The official opening date for Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia is July 29th, as unveiled by Disney. Alongside this announcement, Disney has offered a first glimpse of the restaurant’s interior, spotlighting various exciting features for fans to enjoy.
Novelties within Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia Even before stepping into the restaurant, visitors will encounter a life-sized bronze statue of Miguel holding his guitar. Music will evidently play a significant role within the restaurant, with traditional Mexican tunes and melodies from the movie, such as “Remember Me,” filling the air.
The restaurant is adorned with elements from the movie and Mexican culture, featuring vibrant papel picados at the entrance. Crafted by Disney Imagineers, nearly 200 papel picados grace the restaurant, drawing inspiration from Mexican folklore, music, and floral motifs.
Prominent in the film, alebrijes serve as spirit guides to the Land of the Dead, serving as both a Mexican art form and a source of inspiration for Pixar artists and Disney Imagineers during the creation of the film and the restaurant. Inside the establishment, a substantial alebrije resembling Dante from the film has been intricately carved.
Another captivating feature within the restaurant is a faithful reproduction of Héctor’s guitar, prominently displayed. The Disney Parks Blog also shares that notes from Héctor’s diary are discreetly placed towards the back of the la Sala de Música room.
Lastly, in la Sala de Familia, portraits of Miguel’s family members are exhibited, accompanied by references to the family’s generations-old shoemaking business.
Enthusiasts can explore this captivating restaurant when it opens later this week on July 29th!
